
BioTech | Recruiting Section Editor-in-Chief for the “Environmental Biotechnology” Section
BioTech (ISSN: 2673-6284) is currently recruiting a prominent expert working in the field of environmental biotechnology to join our Editorial Board as the Section Editor-in-Chief (SEiC) to lead this Section. This is in order to promote the academic exchange of scientists and support the Editorial Board with additional expertise.
BioTech is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed scientific journal that provides an advanced forum for investigations and discussions related to the study and application of biotechnology.
The journal has high visibility, being indexed within Scopus, SCIE (Web of Science), Inspec, and other databases. In addition, manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision is provided to authors approximately 21.6 days after submission; acceptance for publication is undertaken in 2.9 days (median values for papers published in this journal in the first half of 2025). BioTech has Impact Factor: 3.1 (2024) and Citecore: 4.8 (2024).
Section Editors-in-Chief are recognized leaders in their fields, responsible for ensuring the scientific quality, development, and visibility of their journal Section.
The initial term for this position is two years, and the role includes the following responsibilities:
- Acting as an ambassador for the journal, MDPI, and open access publishing;
- Making scientific decisions regarding the scope and direction of the Section;
- Inviting distinguished scientists to join the Editorial Board;
- Suggesting and promoting topics for Special Issues;
- Providing guidance and support to Editorial Board Members and editorial staff when needed;
- Overseeing the editorial process for submissions within the Section, including making the final decision on acceptance after peer review;
- Upholding and promoting MDPI’s editorial, peer review, and ethical guidelines.
