About Venereology

Aims

Venereology (ISSN: 2674-0710) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal covering all aspects of sexually transmitted infections (STIs/STDs), including basic, laboratory, clinical, public health, behavioral, and translational research. It publishes original research articles, reviews, case reports, communications, etc., and encourages scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. Therefore, the journal has no restrictions regarding the length of papers. Full experimental or methodological details should be provided so that the results can be reproduced.

Scope

The journal covers fungal, bacterial, viral, and parasitic sexually transmitted infections, as well as HIV infection and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), in relation to the following topics:

• Pathophysiology of STIs;
• Epidemiology of STIs, including behavioral, economic, and social factors, as well as mathematical and computational modeling;
• Prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of STIs;
• Public health-related aspects of STIs/HIV, including healthcare delivery, health economics, health policies, education, and interventions;
• Health behavior and psychosocial aspects of STIs;
• Co-infections or complications of STIs;
• Studies of pathogenic viruses/bacteria/fungi/parasites associated with STIs;
• STI-associated cancers, including the role of sexually transmitted pathogens in carcinogenesis, cancer prevention, screening, and management;
• Laboratory and other basic science investigations of STIs, including animal models, microbiology, virology, molecular biology, and genomics;
• Immunology and vaccination, including vaccine development for STIs;
• Drug development, therapeutics, and clinical pharmacology of STIs;
• Digital health and innovative technologies in STIs care;
• Sexual and reproductive health aspects of STIs, including infertility, pregnancy outcomes, congenital infections, and vertical transmission;
• Venereology and dermatology, including clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and management of sexually transmitted infections and related dermatological conditions.
