Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the launch of a Special Issue dedicated to endoscopic surgery in gastroenterology, a rapidly growing field with a significant impact on modern clinical practice.

This issue aims to compile original research and reviews from specialists in interventional gastroenterology, surgeons with expertise in therapeutic endoscopy, and radiologists involved in radiologically guided gastroenterological procedures. Our goal is to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue that highlights the latest technological innovations, including the integration of robotic systems and AI applications in gastroenterology. These advancements offer new insights into endoscopic imaging analysis, the guidance of complex procedures, personalized treatment approaches, and improved clinical outcomes. We invite authors to submit articles on advanced endoscopic resection techniques, hybrid endoscopic–surgical procedures, radiological techniques in digestive interventions, the use of AI and robotics in interventional gastroenterology, and perspectives on the future of minimally invasive surgery. Through this thematic issue, we seek to strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration and provide an up-to-date overview of the fast-paced progress in endoscopic surgery within gastroenterology.

We look forward to your contributions and ideas as we establish an academic reference resource in the field.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Surgical Techniques Development is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
