Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In an age of unprecedented technological advancements, the integration of wireless sensors into the healthcare domain has emerged as a transformative force, revolutionizing the way we deliver, manage, and experience healthcare. This Special Issue is dedicated to exploring the diverse applications, challenges, and innovations at the intersection of wireless sensor technology and e-health.

We invite researchers, academics, and practitioners to contribute original research papers, reviews, and case studies that shed light on the latest developments, opportunities, and challenges in the use of wireless sensors for e-health. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Wireless Sensor Technologies: Exploring the latest advancements in wireless sensor technologies and their applications in healthcare, from wearable devices to implantable sensors and ambient monitoring.
  2. Remote Patient Monitoring: Investigating the impact of wireless sensors on remote patient monitoring, early disease detection, and real-time data collection for chronic conditions.
  3. Data Analytics and Machine Learning: Discussing data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques for the effective utilization of wireless sensor data in healthcare decision-making.
  4. Privacy and Security: Examining the critical issues surrounding data privacy, security, and ethical considerations in the context of wireless sensor-enabled e-health.
  5. E-Health Ecosystem: Analyzing the interconnected e-health ecosystem, including telemedicine, electronic health records, and interoperability of healthcare systems.
  6. Patient-Centered Care: Focusing on patient engagement, empowerment, and self-management facilitated by wireless sensors in healthcare.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
