Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Sustainable nutrient management and soil quality optimization are essential for maintaining productivity, soil health, and environmental sustainability in vegetable production systems. Intensive cultivation often leads to soil degradation, nutrient imbalances, salinization, and reduced organic matter, creating the need for innovative and integrated management practices. Approaches such as the combined use of mineral fertilizers with organic amendments, biofertilizers, cover crops, and crop rotations have exhibited significant potential in enhancing the efficiency of nutrient use, soil fertility, and long-term resilience.

This Special Issue aims to compile research and reviews that advance our understanding of soil processes, nutrient dynamics, and sustainable management strategies tailored to vegetable systems. We particularly welcome studies on integrated fertilization, soil amendments, nutrient cycling, microbial interactions, and novel indicators of soil health that contribute to more resilient and productive agroecosystems.
