Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
I would like to invite you to contribute to a Special Issue on coastal restoration to be published in Oceans.
This Special Issue aims not only to present the leading science in this area but also to foster collaborations and set the foundation for future funding applications.
We aim to present several topics in this Special Issue as follows:
- Coral reef restoration;
- The restoration of soft bottom areas;
- The biological restoration of manmade structures, such as jetties and wave breakers;
- The involvement of communities and education in coastal restoration;
- Nature-based solutions’ for coastal conservation/rehabilitation.
We invite a range of research and review/opinion papers from both established and new authors. As mentioned, an effort will be made to foster collaboration between different authors.
However, the following question remains: why should you publish in a journal that does not have an impact factor, and why should you pay for the publication? First, Oceans has applied for an impact factor; therefore, it is possible that one will be awarded to the papers in this Special Issue. Second, many journals have switched to this pay-for-publication mode. Helpful editorial support will be provided throughout the process, and one can expect rapid publication.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding this Special Issue or to discuss topics for publication.
