Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Population aging is one of the most important public health challenges of the 21st century, increasing the need for strategies that preserve health, function and quality of life across the life course. Nutrition is a key modifiable determinant of healthy aging, influencing metabolic health, inflammation, body composition, cognitive performance, immune function, frailty and the risk of age-related chronic diseases. At the same time, emerging concepts in geroscience and healthy longevity medicine are reshaping how nutrition is understood: not only as a tool for disease prevention but also as a potential lever for maintaining physiological resilience and extending healthspan.

This Special Issue aims to bring together original research, reviews and perspective articles examining the role of nutrition in healthy longevity. We welcome contributions addressing dietary patterns, nutrient intake, nutritional biomarkers, supplements, precision nutrition, metabolic health, sarcopenia, frailty, cognition, inflammation, microbiome-related mechanisms and public health or clinical approaches to nutrition-based longevity promotion. The goal is to advance evidence-based understanding of how nutrition can support longer, healthier lives.
