Computational Statistics: Analysis and Applications for Mathematics

This special issue belongs to the section “D1: Probability and Statistics“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Statistics and computer science have undergone significant transformations. Scholars and operators in various industries have shown interest in these fields in the last decade due to the increasing demand for data analysis and automation. The availability of large, dynamic, and complex data has led to the development of new technologies, methods, and analytical approaches to manage, process, and extract valuable insights. Thus, these fields have become central to many, driving innovation and shaping how we interact with the world. In statistics, computer science is crucial to solving complex and complicated problems. Conversely, statistics is also important in computer science to provide tools (or techniques) to analyse, interpret, and explain certain phenomena. Thus, scholars are invited to submit original high-quality research papers on integrating computational methods with statistical analysis to address complex, data-intensive problems across various disciplines through this Special Issue. We also encourage authors in all areas of statistics to submit their research work demonstrating the power of computational statistics in solving real-life problems.

Contributions should have a strong mathematical foundation, a clear and logical structure, and accurate calculations; be original, contributing new insights or approaches to the field; and present novel ideas, proofs, or results, not simply reproducing existing work.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
