Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Personalized medicine represents a transformative shift in healthcare, focusing on tailoring medical treatment to the unique genetic, molecular, and clinical characteristics of each patient. Driven by personalized medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery is also undergoing continuous development, including accurate diagnosis of diseases through genome sequencing, epigenetic analysis, and radiomics, this approach offers the potential for earlier detection of malignancies; Through combine the precise surgery with artificial intelligence and machine learning, it can improve surgical precision, optimize postoperative recovery, and promote better long-term outcomes through personalized risk assessment and follow-up plans, thereby better managing complex diseases such as oral cancer, craniofacial deformities, and temporomandibular joint disorders.
Personalized medicine is increasingly recognized as the future of patient care, aiming to become an integral part of clinical decision-making in oral and maxillofacial practice—bridging the gap between cutting-edge biomedical science and truly patient-centered care.
This special issue focuses on the intersection of personalized medicine and oral and maxillofacial diseases, highlighting recent advances in diagnostics, therapeutic strategies, surgical planning and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS). The goal is to explore how personalized approaches can lead to more effective, targeted, and efficient treatment for patients.
We invite scholars and clinicians to submit original research articles and comprehensive reviews that contribute to the advancement of personalized medicine in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Personalized Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
