About Journal of Phytomedicine
Aims
The Journal of Phytomedicine (ISSN: 3042-9250) is an international, open access, and peer-reviewed journal publishing advanced research on all aspects of phytomedicines, including their development, efficacy, quality control, pharmacodynamics, and therapeutic and clinical applications. It aims to act as an interdisciplinary platform for research on medicinal plants and plant extracts, bridging the disciplines of integrative complementary medicine, chemistry, and plant science.
The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, and communications. Scientists are encouraged to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the maximum length of the papers. The full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced.
Scope
The research areas covered by the journal include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Biological and pharmacological studies on medicinal and aromatic plants, plant extracts, phytochemicals, essential oils, aromatic waters and isolated natural products;
- Studies on the utilization of plant-based bioactive compounds for the development of functional foods, disease prevention and treatment as well as other evidence-based health effects;
- Phytochemical characterization of plant-based medicines;
- Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies of plant-based bioactive compounds;
- Safety and toxicology studies of plant-derived natural products;
- Multi-omics and in silico approaches in natural products-based drug discovery;
- Formulation and delivery of plant extracts and other isolated natural products;
- Characterization and valorization of agricultural and botanical supply chain waste materials as added-value bioactive products;
- Phytochemicals and other natural products as cosmeceutical, nutraceutical and other therapeutically relevant industrial applications;
- Ethnobotany, ethnopharmacology and pharmacognosy studies of medicinal and aromatic plants;
- Sustainability (environmental, social and economic viability) studies of plant-derived medicines;
- Quality assessment and assurance studies of herbal remedies.
