Journal of Clinical Medicine | Editor-in-Chief and Section Editors-in-Chief Annual Meeting Summary


Journal of Clinical Medicine
 (JCM, ISSN: 2077-0383) held its Editor-in-Chief and Section Editors-in-Chief Annual Meeting on 13 April 2026. This significant event was hosted by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Kent Doi, and 17 Section Editors-in-Chief attended. We are grateful for the support of all participants. This meeting focused on the journal’s strategic improvements and challenges. We all look forward to the further and better development of the journal in 2026. We also remain open to receiving suggestions from other members and welcome further communication with the JCM Editorial Office (jcm@mdpi.com) or Deputy Managing Editors (dme-jcm@mdpi.com).

At the beginning of the meeting, we introduced the following key information regarding MDPI and the journal:

  • MDPI’s new office set up, awards, the Research Integrity Team and Ethics Committee;
  • Journal’s key performance in 2025;
  • Submission trends, editorial board structure, geographic distribution of authors and editors, and marketing activities;
  • Strategic plans for the upcoming year, including strengthening quality control, optimizing the peer review process, enhancing author experience, and expanding editorial and reviewer capacity.

The following information was covered in the discussion:

  • To identify section-level citation metrics and do targeted improvements;
  • The research integrity team has already played a positive role, and support for research integrity and ethics remains a key priority;
  • Continue to strengthen regional promotion and deepen cooperation with conferences, achieving greater geographical diversity in the distribution of submissions;
  • Increase the journal's participation in major conferences. Engagement in high-impact conferences will significantly enhance the journal's visibility and influence, and several conferences and associations have been recommended for future collaboration;
  • To monitor the launch of new Special Issues and the citation performance of their published papers.
