Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

About 110,000 micropollutants enter the aquatic medium every year due to human activities. They come from different sectors such as industry, agriculture, medicine, and most of them are released through the waste water system. Aquatic ecosystem must then face a chronic pollution with a complex mixture of compounds with different type of chemicals, exhibiting different mechanisms of actions. Reporting the distribution of the environmental compounds, such as the micropollutants, in the aquatic environment and understanding their interaction with the different abiotic and biotic surrounding matrices is critical. There is a lack of study investigating the cocktail effects of micropollutants on exposed organisms such as bivalves which are often on the front line of exposure in coastal ecosystem and have an important role in ecosystem functioning, sea food economical market, and aquaculture sector. Developing methods and innovative tools allowing the investigation of cocktail effects in realistic conditions is an urgent need for the scientific community.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2500 CHF (Swiss Francs).
