Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a frequently diagnosed neurodevelopmental disorder which may have a significant impact on every functioning of the individual and their environment. When analysing a person with ASD through the prism of the biopsychosocial model, a complex network of factors can be observed that influences a child/teenager/adult with autism. These factors can be considered with respect to the age of the person with ASD, current diagnostic/therapeutic stage of the subject, or other criteria applied. The very concept of autism is multidimensional and requires an interdisciplinary approach, both in diagnosis and therapy. Therefore, we invite specialists and scholars in this field to submit scientific reports that directly and indirectly deal with ASD to this Special Issue. Our aim is to present a cross section of interdisciplinary works that illustrates the multiplicity and diversity of problems related to this disorder, both in terms of the individual and in a broader social context. Ultimately, want to present work that will be a source of information, as well as research presenting the dimensions of practical solutions or indicating the need for systemic change.
