Dear Colleagues,

Climate change is posing significant challenges to global horticulture. Rising temperatures, prolonged droughts, fluctuating carbon dioxide levels, and extreme weather events directly impact the growth of high-value crops, including fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants. These species are highly sensitive to environmental variations.

Abiotic stresses do not just reduce overall crop yields; they also negatively affect the final quality of the product. Environmental pressures alter nutritional content, flavor, appearance, and post-harvest shelf-life. Developing innovative, climate-resilient cultivation methods is therefore essential to secure food supply and maintain profitability for growers worldwide.

The Special Issue “Horticultural Crops Under Climate Change: Agronomic Adaptation Strategies and Quality Assessment” aims to present innovative studies, tools, and approaches to provide a clear scientific platform for research focused on sustainable agronomic adaptation strategies and comprehensive quality assessment frameworks. We invite original research articles, reviews, and short communications that explore how horticultural crops respond to climate stress at the physiological, biochemical, and molecular levels.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Horticulturae is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
