Special Issue Information

This Special Issue focuses on the health, nutrition, and feed science of aquatic crabs, aiming to showcase recent advances that support healthy and sustainable crab aquaculture. We welcome original research, reviews, and case studies that contribute to the resilience, productivity, and ecological compatibility of crab farming systems.

We seek contributions on a broad range of topics including, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • health and disease management, including diagnostics, surveillance, and emerging pathogens;
  • advances in nutrition, feed formulation, and functional diets for improved growth and immunity;
  • sustainable aquaculture strategies under changing environmental conditions;
  • genetic improvement, selective breeding, and genomic insights into crab traits;
  • technological innovations (e.g., sensors, remote monitoring, AI-driven decision tools) in crab aquaculture;
  • ecosystem-based approaches, including environmental impacts and habitat integration;
  • socioeconomic, regulatory, and policy perspectives for sustainable industry growth.

Our objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of the multidisciplinary efforts shaping the future of crab aquaculture, from molecular to ecosystem scales.
