Feature Papers to Celebrate the First Impact Factor of Electricity

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to announce that Electricity (ISSN 2673-4826) has received its first Impact Factor of 1.8, as published in the 2024 Edition of the Journal Citation Reports® (Clarivate), released in June 2025. To celebrate this remarkable achievement, we are launching this Special Issue to publish high-quality papers from editorial board members and leading researchers invited by the editorial team. Papers could be both long research papers and review papers describing the current state of the art in one of the areas covered by the journal. All papers will be published in open access and without any charges. This Special Issue aims to cover the following major themes (but is not limited to them):

  • Integration of renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hydro) into power grids.
  • Flexible grid operation, demand-side management, storage systems and electric-vehicle integration.
  • Smart grid technologies: monitoring, control, protection, automation and power electronics.
  • Multi-energy systems, micro-grids, local energy communities and distributed generation.
  • Stability, transient and electromagnetic phenomena in modern power systems.
  • Data-driven methods, artificial intelligence, digital twins and predictive maintenance in power system operation.
  • Economic dispatch, unit commitment, market mechanisms and energy-system optimisation under decarbonisation scenarios.
  • Regulatory, policy and business-model innovations enabling the energy transition.

Both full-length original research articles and comprehensive reviews are invited. Manuscripts should be submitted online at the Electricity submission portal. All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review. Accepted papers will be published continuously and listed on the Special Issue website.

We look forward to receiving your contributions and to showcasing cutting-edge research that advances the transformation of power systems for a sustainable future.
