Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Nurturing creativity in the classroom is critical across disciplines, as it enables innovation, problem-solving, and the advancement of knowledge. Beyond the classroom, creativity is a skill that employers consistently cite as important for success in the 21st-century workforce. Arming students with this skill has become increasingly difficult, especially in the age of AI. Despite its importance, studies exploring how to cultivate creative capacities in the classroom remain sparse.
Given the pressing need to increase creativity across the curriculum, this Special Issue aims to address this gap by inviting contributions that examine creativity-fostering teaching methods and approaches to enhancing students’ creative capacities. Through this work, we hope to equip the next generation of learners with the creative skills necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving workforce and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their respective fields.
We invite submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following topics:
- Instructional practices and classroom implementations that foster students’ creativity, including the design and implementation of classroom activities, creative tasks, assessments, and case studies of creative teaching practices.
- Curriculum design, pedagogical frameworks, and programmatic innovations that integrate creativity into courses, degree programs, or broader educational structures.
- Theoretical and empirical research on creativity in teaching and learning that advances conceptual, methodological, or analytical understanding of creativity in educational contexts.
- Studies connecting creativity to related domains such as equity, inclusion, access, identity, affect, and teacher preparation or professional development.
- Cross-disciplinary or interdisciplinary approaches to cultivating creativity, as well as work examining implications for curriculum standards, institutional initiatives, and educational policy.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Education Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
