Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The 51 species in the family Cervidae are collectively known as deer. Cervids are native to the Americas, Asia, and Europe with a circumpolar distribution that includes populations introduced to Australia and Oceania. Populations of cervids can grow quickly to exploit favorable environments and persist under adverse environmental conditions. The diversity of their response to environmental changes include combinations of behavioral, physiological, and life-history variation. Broad functional diversity results in cervids becoming keystone species in ecosystems they inhabit, highly valued resources for human societies, and sometimes invasive species with adverse social and ecological impacts. We invite papers that consider the diversity of response to environmental change including, behavioral, physiological, demographic, or variation in life histories in species or populations of cervids.
