Updated Citation Style for Commodities
We are pleased to announce that Commodities (ISSN 2813-2432) is transitioning to a new citation style. Effective as of Issue 4, Volume 5, we will switch from the American Chemical Society (ACS) style to the American Psychological Association (APA) style (7th Edition).
This change aligns our journal with the typical referencing standards of social sciences and economics, supporting our multidisciplinary scope and ensuring broader accessibility for our authors and readers.
To assist authors with this transition, please note the following key differences:
1. In-Text Citations
Previous (ACS): Used superscript numbers indicating the order of citation.
New (APA): Uses an Author-Date format (e.g., Smith, 2024), highlighting the timeliness of the source directly in the text.
2. Reference List Format
Previous (ACS): Ordered numerically by the sequence of citation.
New (APA): Arranged alphabetically by author. References include the publication year immediately following the author's name.
3. Emphasis on Publication Date
Previous (ACS): Focused on the sequence of research steps.
New (APA): Prioritizes the publication date, which is essential for establishing research relevance in fields such as economics and social sciences.
Authors are strongly encouraged to consult the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th Edition) for detailed formatting guidelines.
We appreciate your cooperation as we implement this important update to better serve our community.
