Dear Colleagues,
Leukemia is a clinically and biologically heterogeneous hematologic malignancy characterized by uncontrolled proliferation of blasts and impaired hematopoietic differentiation. In recent years, advances in genomics, epigenetics, single-cell analysis, and multi-omics integration have substantially deepened our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying leukemia initiation, progression, and therapeutic resistance. At the same time, the emergence of novel therapeutic strategies, including targeted inhibitors, epigenetic modulators and immunotherapies, is rapidly reshaping the clinical landscape and offering new hope for patients.
This Special Issue of Cells aims to highlight cutting-edge basic and translational research that elucidating the complex pathobiology of leukemia and driving the development of next-generation therapeutic approaches. We welcome original research articles, reviews, and perspectives that explore key areas such as genetic and epigenetic alterations, leukemia stem cells, metabolic reprogramming, clonal evolution, tumor microenvironment dynamics, and mechanisms of therapeutic resistance and response. By bringing together diverse insights and interdisciplinary approaches, this Special Issue seeks to accelerate progress toward more effective, precise, and durable treatments for leukemia patients.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Cells is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
