Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Cancer progression is driven by intricate molecular networks involving genetic, epigenetic, and signaling alterations that fuel uncontrolled cell proliferation, therapy resistance, immune evasion, angiogenesis, and metastasis. A comprehensive understanding of these dynamic regulatory pathways is essential to develop effective, targeted cancer therapies. This Special Issue aims to highlight the latest advances in elucidating the molecular mechanisms that govern cancer initiation, growth, and progression in brain tumors.
This Special Issue aims to gather original research and review articles that explore the molecular regulators, such as transcription factors, non-coding RNAs, signaling molecules, epigenetic modifiers, and metabolic pathways, that contribute to brain tumor initiation, growth, and therapy resistance. Emphasis will be placed on translational relevance, biomarker discovery, and the identification of novel therapeutic targets. Submissions focusing on natural compounds, synthetic drugs, or small molecules that modulate these molecular pathways to inhibit cancer progression are also highly encouraged.
This Special Issue is of great importance as it consolidates cutting-edge research on molecular drivers and chemical modulators of brain tumor development, metastasis, and resistance mechanisms. By bridging basic molecular insights with translational oncology, this collection aims to accelerate the discovery and development of innovative therapeutic strategies, ultimately advancing precision cancer medicine.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Exploring the molecular mechanisms regulating brain tumor initiation, progression, and metastasis.
- Highlighting the roles of key molecular players such as transcription factors, non-coding RNAs, signaling molecules, and epigenetic regulators.
- Investigating the metabolic pathways and cellular processes contributing to brain tumor growth and therapy resistance.
- Identifying novel biomarkers for brain tumor diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic response.
- Featuring studies on natural products, synthetic compounds, and small molecules targeting cancer-related molecular pathways.
- Encouraging interdisciplinary approaches integrating molecular biology, pharmacology, and systems biology in brain tumor.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
