Mental Health in Adolescent

This special issue belongs to the section “Health Psychology“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Adolescence is a pivotal developmental stage characterized by significant biological, psychological, and social transformations. As young people navigate these changes, mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance abuse often arise, making adolescence a critical period for intervention. This Special Issue of Behavioral Sciences aims to explore the complex landscape of adolescent mental health by examining underlying risk factors and highlighting both preventive strategies and therapeutic interventions. We seek to understand how genetics, environmental stressors, family dynamics, peer relationships, and societal expectations contribute to adolescent mental health. Furthermore, this Special Issue will explore innovative approaches for early detection and intervention, emphasizing the importance of tailored mental health care that addresses the diverse needs of this age group. By addressing contemporary topics such as digital mental health tools, school-based interventions, and the impact of social media, this Special Issue provides a comprehensive framework for advancing adolescent mental health care. We encourage contributions that explore interdisciplinary perspectives, novel treatment modalities, and policy initiatives aimed at improving adolescent mental well-being on a global scale.
