Understanding Well-Being in Daily Life

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, the pursuit of understanding well-being has evolved beyond broad theoretical frameworks to explore how everyday behaviours such as physical activities, hobbies, routines, and leisure time activities can shape individual and collective health and quality of life. With World Health Organization Member States prioritising mental health promotion and prevention strategies, it is essential to better understand how behaviour scientists can enable people to thrive in their daily life using evidence-based approaches. We invite submissions describing research that speaks to improving well-being at individual, community, and population levels, providing valuable insights into the promotion of healthy behaviours.

This Special Isse aims to provide fresh insights into the interplay between the way we live our daily lives and how this underpins well-being in real-world settings. We aim to highlight research that provides evidence that is both theoretically robust and of practical relevance. Original empirical studies, systematic reviews, and interdisciplinary approaches are especially encouraged. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing body of knowledge that not only deepens our theoretical understanding but also offers practical implications for enhancing well-being and quality of living in diverse communities.
