Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Professor Hong-Kun Xu received his PhD degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1988 and is currently a distinguished professor at Hangzhou Dianzi University, China. In 2004, he received the South African Mathematical Society Research Distinction Award and a Second Prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education of China. He is the Former Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Dean of the College of Science at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan. He was elected as a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa in 2005, and a fellow to the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) in 2012, selected at the “Thousand Talents Program” of Zhejiang Province in 2014, selected as a Thomson Reuters/Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher from 2014 to 2018, and a 2019 Elsevier Chinese Highly Cited Researcher. He has published approximately 250 research papers in journals and has delivered academic speeches (invited/keynote/plenary) at more than 50 international academic conferences. He is serving editorial boards for more than 20 international mathematical journals, including co-editor-in-chief of the Springer relaunched journal of Fixed Point Theory and Algorithms for Sciences and Engineering, and field editor-in-chief for the Fixed Point Theory and Optimization Sections of Frontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. His main research interests include nonlinear functional analysis, optimization theory and algorithms, Banach space geometry theory, fixed point theory and applications, nonlinear mapping iteration method, inverse problem and its regularization method, financial mathematics, and so forth.
The purpose of this Special Issue is to pay tribute to the significant contributions in these fields of Professor Hong-Kun Xu and provide some important recent advances in theory, methods, and applications. We cordially and earnestly invite researchers to contribute their original and high-quality research papers which will inspire advances in nonlinear analysis, optimization, and their applications. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Fixed point, coincidence point, and best proximity point theory with applications
- Algorithms for nonlinear problems
- Set-valued analysis
- Nonlinear and variational methods for ODEs and PDEs
- Non-smooth analysis and optimization
- Convex analysis
- Matrix theory
- Control theory
- Inverse and ill-posed problems
- Game theory
- Dynamical systems
- Image and signal processing
- Data mining

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Axioms is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue
- Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
- Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
- Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
- External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
- e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
