Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Chronic diseases pose a significant challenge to global health, with an increasing prevalence that is closely linked to lifestyle and dietary habits. Among various dietary components, fruit antioxidants have garnered considerable attention for their potential to prevent and treat chronic conditions. This Special Issue aims to explore the multifaceted roles of antioxidants found in fruits and their impact on the mitigation of chronic diseases, emphasizing the importance of incorporating these natural compounds into public health strategies.

This Special Issue will feature a collection of research articles, reviews, and case studies that delve into the mechanisms by which fruit antioxidants contribute to the prevention and management of chronic diseases. These include cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders, among others. The articles will highlight the bioactive compounds present in various fruits, such as polyphenols, flavonoids, and carotenoids, and their antioxidant properties that can counteract oxidative stress, inflammation, and other pathological processes associated with chronic conditions.

Furthermore, the Special Issue will discuss the clinical implications of fruit antioxidant research, including the efficacy of antioxidant-rich diets and supplementation in disease prevention and treatment. It will also address the challenges in translating scientific findings into practical dietary recommendations and the need for large-scale, long-term studies to establish causality and optimize intervention strategies.

By bringing together the latest findings from diverse disciplines, this Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the role of fruit antioxidants in chronic disease management and to stimulate further research and innovation in this field.

We invite submissions that offer novel insights into the role of fruit antioxidants in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases, as well as studies that explore the practical application of this knowledge in clinical and public health settings.
