Recruiting Editorial Board Members for Hygiene

To meet the demands of Hygiene’s rapid growth and ensure the publication of high-quality articles that are freely distributed within the community, we are currently recruiting academic editors worldwide to join our Editorial Board. If you would like to participate as an Editorial Board Member, please refer to the guide below and submit your application accordingly.

Eligibility criteria of applicants:

Must have completed their doctorate/PhD degree;
Must have published impactful work in the fields of healthcare epidemiology, public health and environmentally related hygiene;
Must currently (at the time of application) be serving as a senior lecturer, associate professor, or professor in academia.

The main responsibilities of Editorial Board Members are as follows:

Pre-screening and making decisions on new submissions related to their research interests;
Setting up at least one Special Issue during their term or supervising Special Issues on a topic pertaining to their research field;
Helping to garner suitable expert authors and inviting young scholars to join as Guest Editors or reviewers;
Providing input or feedback regarding the journal’s policies;
Helping to promote the journal among their peers or at conferences;
Attending Board meetings to suggest strategies for the journal’s development;
Reviewing manuscripts.

Hygiene (ISSN: 2673-947X) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to the publication of high-quality scientific papers in the field of healthcare epidemiology, public health and environmentally related hygiene. Hygiene has a CiteScore of 2.6, following its inclusion in Scopus (Elsevier) in 2024. The CiteScore ranks the journal 16 out of 38 titles (Q2) in the “Immunology and Microbiology” category, 196 out of 433 titles (Q2) in the “Medicine” category, an impressive achievement for a journal running in Volume 5. In addition, Hygiene has recently been accepted for inclusion within Web of Science and will receive its first Impact Factor in 2026.
