Cover Story: This study introduces an agent-based evacuation model that simulates realistic behaviors, such as accidents, hysteria, and disorientation, during emergency scenarios. Unlike traditional models, this approach incorporates interactions between individuals, obstacles, and exits in diverse urban environments, offering more precise insights into evacuation dynamics. The findings enhance the understanding of human behavior under stress, guiding the design of safer buildings, optimized evacuation routes, and effective emergency protocols. This model provides planners and architects with a valuable tool to improve safety standards and reduce risks in both natural and human-made disasters. View this paper
