The presented manuscript deals with howling detection in sound reinforcement systems. In detail, a two-stage implementation based on an extension of magnitude-slope-deviation-based howling detection is presented.
The manuscript is linguistically and technically correct, except for a few spelling errors.

Regardless of this, it must be stated that this reviewer has not been able to reproduce the method. Although an enormous amount of detail is presented, it prevents the reader from seeing the essentials.

The recommendation is therefore: Revision, especially shortening, of the script and concentration on the essential novelty value, especially chapter 5.

The paper is well written, technically sound and results are good. A high number of scenarios were considered to compute the performance of the system with various controls.
