Cover Story: Alcohol consumption has a significant impact on health problems and premature death during adolescence. Although sport is widely recognized for its role in promoting healthy lifestyles, the association between sport participation and alcohol consumption remains uncertain. To address this, current studies aim to explore specific aspects of sport contexts and athletes’ characteristics, with the goal of better understanding the health benefits associated with sport participation. Research on personal values can contribute to this endeavor, as values shape individuals' perceptions, emotions, and behaviors. For this reason, further research into this dispositional variable could provide insights that would enhance existing prevention strategies or even develop new strategies targeting young people. View this paper
