Cover Story: The figure depicts snapshots of the Dirichlet–Neumann domain decomposition method matching process, in which we illustrate the evolution of the vertical displacement field. We partitioned the domain into two subdomains, as shown. We display the first four iterations in reading order. This parallel answer matches its serial counterpart, which we validated against commercial software, and we obtained excellent accordance. Indeed, for example, the relative error in the vertical displacement against the global solution is less than 0.14%. We can claim that the parallel solution reproduces the serial one. Indeed, in the right-bottom snapshot, the vertical displacement field looks relatively smooth and agrees well with the reference solution. View this paper.
