Cover Story: Model order reduction is crucial for efficiently simulating large-scale RLCk models extracted from modern integrated circuits. This article introduces a frequency-aware multi-point MM (MPMM) method that adaptively constructs a rational Krylov subspace guided solely by the reduced-order model (ROM) transfer function. Through local and global convergence criteria, automatic expansion point selection, and efficient implementation techniques, MPMM avoids unnecessary computations, ensures accuracy across the desired frequency range, and exhibits excellent performance even in complex large-scale models. Compared to existing approaches, MPMM produces significantly smaller and more accurate ROMs with lower runtimes and memory demands. These advantages establish MPMM as a strong candidate for integration into industrial parasitic extraction tools. View this paper
