Cover Story: Metabolic reprogramming during CD8+ T cell activation is critical for the formation of CD8+ effector cells with the capacity to kill infected or cancerous cells. Detailed resolution of metabolic dynamics is needed to advance the field of immunometabolism. Here, we outline mass spectrometry methodologies that can be utilized in parallel to achieve broad coverage of the metabolome. We combine these methodologies with fine-grained time resolution and highlight two novel metabolic changes during CD8+ T cell activation. Finally, we provide this dataset with a total of over 11,000 features across 9 time points as a resource for future work. View this paper
