Cover Story: Childhood obesity is a serious global public health challenge. Physical activity may be of importance to counteract obesity development during childhood, however studies in pre-school-aged children are scarce. In this study, we utilized the double-labeled water method—a gold-standard method to estimate energy expenditure—to examine associations of physical activity level with body composition and physical fitness in Swedish pre-school-aged children.
