Signaling Pathways in Liver Disease 2nd Edition

Liver diseases, both acute and chronic, represent intricate disorders influenced by a multitude of pathogenic signaling pathways. These pathways play a crucial role in regulating the functions of both parenchymal and non-parenchymal liver cells. Central to these processes are networks of cytokines and chemokines that coordinate an inflammatory response, which in turn facilitates the recruitment and activation of various subsets of leukocytes. Additionally, specific molecular mediators engage distinct signaling pathways that contribute to the increased production of extracellular matrix components. Concurrently, different classes of reactive species are generated, leading to heightened oxidative and nitrosative stress, ultimately resulting in damage to liver cells. The ongoing cycle of liver injury can progress from inflammation to more severe conditions, such as fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Currently, extensive research efforts, both basic and clinical, are being conducted to explore these fundamental molecular mechanisms at even the single-cell level. We invite you to share your insights through original research articles, comprehensive reviews, or concise perspective pieces focused on the overarching theme of “Signaling Pathways in Liver Disease 2nd Edition”. Contributions that delve into mechanistic details, functional implications, cellular interactions, biochemical processes, diagnostics, therapy, or general considerations related to acute and chronic liver conditions are particularly encouraged.
