Fan growth serves as a critical performance indicator for the sustainable development of livestreaming e-commerce (LSE). However, existing research has paid limited attention to this topic. This study investigates the unique interactive advantages of LSE over traditional e-commerce by examining how interactivity drives fan growth through the mediating role of user retention and the moderating role of anchors’ facial attractiveness. To conduct the analysis, real-time data were collected from 1472 livestreaming sessions on Douyin, China’s leading LSE platform, between January and March 2023, using Python-based (3.12.7) web scraping and third-party data sources. This study operationalizes key variables through text sentiment analysis and image recognition techniques. Empirical analyses are performed using ordinary least squares (OLS) regression with robust standard errors, propensity score matching (PSM), and sensitivity analysis to ensure robustness. The results reveal the following: (1) Interactivity has a significant positive effect on fan growth. (2) User retention partially mediates the relationship between interactivity and fan growth. (3) There is a substitution effect between anchors’ facial attractiveness and interactivity in enhancing user retention, highlighting the substitution relationship between anchors’ personal characteristics and livestreaming room attributes. This research advances the understanding of interactivity’s mechanisms in LSE and, notably, is among the first to explore the marketing implications of anchors’ facial attractiveness in this context. The findings offer valuable insights for both academic research and managerial practice in the evolving livestreaming commerce landscape. Full article

This paper analyzes how distortion in the primary current waveform affects the magnetic flux density in the magnetic core of an inductive current transformer and its transformation accuracy. Keeping the primary current’s RMS value constant, it studies the impact of changes in the RMS values and phase angles of low-order harmonics on the core’s flux density and the values of current error and phase displacement of their transformation. The distorted current waveforms, resulting flux density, and hysteresis loops are examined to identify the operating conditions of the inductive current transformer. This study also highlights the strong influence of low-order harmonics and the diminishing effect of higher-frequency harmonics on the magnetic flux density in its magnetic core, e.g., third, fifth, and seventh higher harmonics may cause an increase in magnetic flux density in the magnetic core of the inductive current transformer in relation to that obtained for a sinusoidal current with a frequency of 50 Hz by about 8.5%, while with additional second, fourth, and sixth harmonics, the increase may reach about 23%. Therefore, the testing procedure should consider not only the load impedance and the RMS values of the primary current but also its harmonic content, including the RMS values of individual harmonics and their phase angles. Constipation is a prevalent gastrointestinal disorder that significantly impairs quality of life. While pharmacological agents such as loperamide are widely used to induce constipation in experimental models, there is increasing interest in natural alternatives for alleviating intestinal dysfunction. In this study, we investigated the laxative effects of soybean powder fermented by Bacillus subtilis DKU_09 in a loperamide-induced rat model of constipation. The probiotic strain was isolated from cheonggukjang, a traditional Korean fermented soybean paste, and its identity was confirmed through 16S rRNA sequencing. Fermented soybean powder was characterized morphologically via scanning electron microscopy and chemically via HPLC to assess its isoflavone content. Rats were administered loperamide (5 mg/kg) for four days to induce constipation and were then treated with fermented soybean powder at doses of 100, 200, or 300 mg/kg. No pharmacological laxatives (e.g., PEG) were used as a positive control; instead, values from the treatment groups were compared with those from the loperamide-only constipation group. Key outcomes of fecal output, water content, colonic fecal retention, and gastrointestinal transit ratio were measured. The fermented product significantly improved stool frequency and moisture content, reduced colonic fecal retention, and restored gastrointestinal transit in a dose-dependent manner. Notably, the 300 mg/kg group demonstrated nearly complete recovery of fecal parameters without affecting body weight. Statistical analysis was performed using one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey’s post hoc test. These findings suggest that Bacillus subtilis-fermented soybean powder exerts synergistic laxative effects through the combined action of probiotic viability and fermentation-enhanced bioactive compounds such as aglycone isoflavones. This study supports the potential use of fermented soybean-based nutraceuticals as a natural and safe intervention for constipation and gastrointestinal dysregulation. Full article

Avocado (Persea americana), originally from Mesoamerica, has emerged as a focus of intense scientific and industrial interest due to its unique combination of nutritional richness, bioactive potential, and technological versatility. Its pulp, widely consumed across the globe, is notably abundant in monounsaturated fatty acids, especially oleic acid, which can comprise over two-thirds of its lipid content. In addition, it provides significant levels of dietary fiber, fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, E and K, carotenoids, tocopherols, and phytosterols like β-sitosterol. These constituents are consistently associated with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, glycemic regulatory, and cardioprotective effects, supported by a growing body of experimental and clinical evidence. This review offers a comprehensive and critical synthesis of the chemical composition and functional properties of avocado, with particular emphasis on its lipid profile, phenolic compounds, and phytosterols. It also explores recent advances in environmentally sustainable extraction techniques, including ultrasound-assisted and microwave-assisted processes, as well as the application of natural deep eutectic solvents. These technologies have demonstrated improved efficiency in recovering bioactives while aligning with the principles of green chemistry. The use of avocado-derived ingredients in nanostructured delivery systems and their incorporation into functional foods, cosmetics, and health-promoting formulations is discussed in detail. Additionally, the potential of native cultivars and the application of precision nutrition strategies are identified as promising avenues for future innovation. Taken together, the findings underscore the avocado’s relevance as a high-value matrix for sustainable development. Future research should focus on optimizing extraction protocols, clarifying pharmacokinetic behavior, and ensuring long-term safety in diverse applications. Full article

Background/Objectives: Family caregivers of individuals with schizophrenia often face considerable psychological and physical strain due to the complexity of caregiving. Although psychoeducation has demonstrated benefits in alleviating this burden, its provision via telenursing remains underexplored in Saudi Arabia. This study evaluated the effect of a psychoeducational program delivered via telenursing on reducing caregiver burden. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was used with 60 caregivers from a tertiary mental health hospital in northern Saudi Arabia, who were divided equally into intervention and control groups. The intervention group participated in a structured four-week psychoeducational program via Zoom, while the control group received routine care. Caregiver burden was assessed using the Family Burden Interview Schedule (FBIS), a validated tool designed to measure the objective and subjective burden experienced by family members caring for individuals with mental illness. The FBIS was administered before and three months after the intervention. The statistical analysis included independent and paired t-tests and ANOVA. Results: The pre-intervention scores showed no significant differences, confirming baseline equivalence. The post-intervention scores showed a significant reduction in burden among the intervention group (p < 0.001), while no meaningful change occurred in the control group. Additionally, a lower burden was associated with higher education, sufficient income (i.e., the caregiver’s perception of being able to meet essential household expenses without financial strain), strong family support, and absence of caregiver illness. Conclusions: These findings suggest that psychoeducation through telenursing is an effective strategy for reducing caregiver burden and improving support accessibility, particularly for those in remote areas. This work presents Quasar, an open-source tool developed to boost the characterization of how variability effects impact radiation sensitivity in digital circuits. Quasar receives a SPICE netlist as input and automatically determines robustness metrics, such as the critical Linear Energy Transfer, for every configuration in which a Single Event Transient fault can propagate an error. The tool can handle ranges from small basic cells to median multi-gate circuits in a few seconds, speeding up the traditional fault injection mechanism based on a large number of electrical simulations. The tool’s workflow explores logical masking to reduce the design space exploration, i.e., reducing the necessary number of electrical simulations, as well as regression methods to speed up variability evaluations. Quasar already has shown the potential to provide useful results, and a prototype has also been published. This work presents a more polished and complete version of the tool, one that optimizes the tool’s search process and allows not only for a fast evaluation of the radiation robustness of a circuit, but also for an analysis of how fabrication process metrics impact this robustness, such as Work Function Fluctuation. Biophysical and Social Constraints of Restoring Ecosystem Services in the Border Regions of Tibet, China

Ecosystem restoration represents a promising solution for enhancing ecosystem services and environmental sustainability. However, border regions—characterized by ecological fragility and geopolitical complexity—remain underrepresented in ecosystem service and restoration research. To fill this gap, we coupled spatially explicit models (e.g., InVEST and RUSLE) with scenario analysis to quantify the ecosystem service potential that could be achieved in China’s Tibetan borderlands under two interacting agendas: ecological restoration and border-strengthening policies. Restoration feasibility was evaluated through combining local biophysical constraints, economic viability (via restoration-induced carbon gains vs. opportunity costs), operational practicality, and simulated infrastructure expansion. The results showed that per-unit-area ecosystem services in border counties (particularly Medog, Cona, and Zayu) exceed that of interior Tibet by a factor of two to four. Combining these various constraints, approximately 4–17% of the border zone remains cost-effective for grassland or forest restoration. Under low carbon pricing (US$10 t−1 CO2), the carbon revenue generated through restoration is insufficient to offset the opportunity cost of agricultural production, constituting a major constraint. Habitat quality, soil conservation, and carbon sequestration increase modestly when induced by restoration, but a pronounced carbon–water trade-off emerges. Planned infrastructure reduces restoration benefits only slightly, whereas raising the carbon price to about US$50 t−1 CO2 substantially expands such benefits. These findings highlight both the opportunities and limits of ecosystem restoration in border regions and point to carbon pricing as the key policy lever for unlocking cost-effective restoration. Most research on domestic dog (Canis familiaris) behavior has focused on pets with restricted movement. However, free-ranging dogs exist in diverse cultural contexts globally, and their interactions with humans are less understood. Tourists can facilitate unrestricted dog movement into wilderness areas, where they may negatively impact wildlife. This study investigated which stimuli—namely, voice, touch, or food—along with inherent factors (age, sex, sociability) motivate free-ranging dogs to follow a human stranger. We measured the distance (up to 600 m) of 129 free-ranging owned and stray dogs from three villages in southern Chile as they followed an experimenter who presented them one of the above stimuli or none (control). To evaluate the effect of dog sociability (i.e., positive versus stress-related or passive behaviors), we performed a 30 s socialization test (standing near the dog without interacting) before presenting a 10 s stimulus twice. We also tracked whether the dog was in the company of other dogs. Each focus dog was video-recorded and tested up to three times over five days. Generalized linear mixed-effects models revealed that the food stimulus significantly influenced dogs’ motivation to follow a stranger, as well as a high proportion of sociable behaviors directed towards humans and the company of other dogs present during the experiment. Juveniles tended to follow a stranger more than adults or seniors, but no effects were found for the dog’s sex, whether an owner was present, the repetition of trials, the location where the study was performed, or for individuals as a random variable. This research highlights that sociability as an inherent factor shapes dog–stranger interactions in free-ranging dogs when food is given. In the context of wildlife conservation, we recommend that managers promote awareness among local communities and tourists to avoid feeding dogs, especially in the context of outdoor activities close to wilderness. Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa), a stress-tolerant pseudocereal ideal for studying abiotic stress responses, was used to systematically identify optimal reference genes for qPCR normalization under gradient stresses: low temperatures (LT group: −2 °C to −10 °C), heat (HT group: 39° C to 45 °C), and drought (DR group: 7 to 13 days). Through multi-algorithm evaluation (GeNorm, NormFinder, BestKeeper, the ΔCt method, and RefFinder) of eleven candidates, condition-specific optimal genes were established as ACT16 (Actin), SAL92 (IT4 phosphatase-associated protein), SSU32 (Ssu72-like family protein), and TSB05 (Tryptophan synthase beta-subunit 2) for the LT group; ACT16 and NRP13 (Asparagine-rich protein) for the HT group; and ACT16, SKP27 (S-phase kinase), and NRP13 for the DR group, with ACT16, NRP13, WLIM96 (LIM domain-containing protein), SSU32, SKP27, SAL92, and UBC22 (ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2) demonstrating cross-stress stability (global group). DHDPS96 (dihydrodipicolinate synthase) and EF03 (translation elongation factor) showed minimal stability. Validation using stress-responsive markers—COR72 (LT), HSP44 (HT), COR413-PM (LT), and DREB12 (DR)—confirmed reliability; COR72 and COR413-PM exhibited oscillatory cold response patterns, HSP44 peaked at 43 °C before declining, and DREB12 showed progressive drought-induced upregulation. Crucially, normalization with unstable genes (DHDPS96 and EF03) distorted expression profiles. This work provides validated reference standards for quinoa transcriptomics under abiotic stresses. Current learning and development approaches often struggle to capture dynamic individual capabilities, particularly the skills they acquire informally every day on the job. This dynamic creates a significant gap between what traditional models think people know and their actual performance, leading to an incomplete and often outdated understanding of how ready the workforce truly is, which can hinder organizational adaptability in rapidly evolving environments. This paper proposes a novel dynamic learner-state ecosystem—an AI-driven solution designed to bridge this gap. Our approach leverages specialized AI agents, orchestrated via the Model Context Protocol (MCP), to continuously track and evolve an individual’s multi-dimensional state (e.g., mastery, confidence, context, and decay). The seamless integration of in-workflow performance data will transform daily work activities into granular and actionable data points through AI-powered dynamic xAPI generation into Learning Record Stores (LRSs). This system enables continuous, authentic performance-based assessment, precise skill gap identification, and highly personalized interventions. The significance of this ecosystem lies in its ability to provide a real-time understanding of everyone’s capabilities, enabling more accurate workforce planning for the future and cultivating a workforce that is continuously learning and adapting. It ultimately helps to transform learning from a disconnected, occasional event into an integrated and responsive part of everyday work. Full article

This paper presents the design and implementation of a SLAM-based online mapping and autonomous trajectory execution system for the Nimbulus-e, a concept vehicle designed for agile maneuvering in confined spaces. The Nimbulus-e uses individual steer-by-wire corner modules with in-wheel motors at all four corners. The associated eight joint variables serve as control inputs, allowing precise trajectory following. These control inputs can be derived from the vehicle’s trajectory using nonholonomic constraints. A LiDAR sensor is used to map the environment and detect obstacles. The system processes LiDAR data in real time, continuously updating the environment map and enabling localization within the environment. The inclusion of vehicle odometry data significantly reduces computation time and improves accuracy compared to a purely visual approach. The A* and Hybrid A* algorithms are used for trajectory planning and optimization, ensuring smooth vehicle movement. The implementation is validated through both full vehicle simulations using an ADAMS Car—MATLABco-simulation and a scaled physical prototype, demonstrating the effectiveness of the system in navigating complex environments. This work contributes to the field of autonomous systems by demonstrating the potential of combining advanced sensor technologies with innovative control algorithms to achieve reliable and efficient navigation. Future developments will focus on improving the robustness of the system by implementing a robust closed-loop controller and exploring additional applications in dense urban traffic and agricultural operations. Over the last decade, polymers have attracted increasing attention for the fabrication of electronic devices due to the innovative results that can be achieved using additive manufacturing (AM) processes. Intrinsically conductive polymers are commonly used to obtain flexible and stretchable devices. They also enable the customisation of electronic devices when processed through AM. However, their main limitation is the reduction in electrical conductivity under mechanical deformation, such as bending. Extrinsically conductive nanocomposites, incorporating conductive fillers into polymer matrices, demonstrate the ability to retain electrical conductivity even following repeated bending, presenting a promising solution to the limitations of intrinsically conductive polymers. However, a gap remains in optimising their processing conditions for diverse 3D printing technologies. Moreover, fillers should be carefully selected according to the application’s specific needs. Dielectric polymers are also very promising for various electronic applications, but they are less investigated and have lower visibility than their conductive counterparts. This review presents three classes of polymer materials, i.e., intrinsically and extrinsically conductive polymers and insulators, discussing their advantages, drawbacks, and applications for 3D printing in electronics. This overview concludes with assessing future investigation areas needed to unlock the possibilities of 3D-printed polymers in electronics. Full article

Despite the increasing integration of government chatbots (GCs) into digital public service delivery, their real-world effectiveness remains limited. Drawing on the literature on algorithm aversion, trust-transfer theory, and perceived risk theory, this study investigates how the type of service agent (human vs. GCs) influences citizens’ trust of e-government services (TOE) and e-government service adoption intention (EGA). Furthermore, it explores whether the effect of trust of government (TOG) on TOE differs across agent types, and whether perceived risk (PR) serves as a boundary condition in this trust-transfer process. An online scenario-based experiment was conducted with a sample of 318 Chinese citizens. Data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that, within the Chinese e-government context, citizens perceive higher risk (PR) and report lower adoption intention (EGA) when interacting with GCs compared to human agents—an indication of algorithm aversion. However, high levels of TOG mitigate this aversion by enhancing TOE. Importantly, PR moderates the strength of this trust-transfer effect, serving as a critical boundary condition. Full article

Modulatory Effects of Caffeine on Imatinib Binding: A Molecular Docking Study Targeting CYP3A4

Caffeine is a widely consumed psychoactive compound known to influence drug metabolism and efficacy through interactions with key enzymes such as cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). This study investigates the molecular impact of caffeine on the binding behavior of imatinib, a first-line BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase inhibitor, using molecular docking simulations. Structural optimization and lipophilicity analyses were conducted using HyperChem, while docking was performed with HEX software (Version 8.0.0) against the CYP3A4 receptor (PDB ID: 1W0E). Two administration scenarios were evaluated: concurrent caffeine–imatinib complex formation and sequential administration with caffeine pre-bound to CYP3A4. The caffeine–imatinib complex exhibited a predicted increase in lipophilicity (logP = 3.09) compared to imatinib alone (logP = −1.29), which may indicate the potential for enhanced membrane permeability and tissue distribution. Docking simulations revealed stronger binding affinity of the complex to CYP3A4 (−350.53 kcal/mol) compared to individual compounds, and improved imatinib binding when CYP3A4 was pre-complexed with caffeine (−294.14 kcal/mol vs. −288.19 kcal/mol). Frontier molecular orbital analysis indicated increased reactivity of the complex (ΔE = 7.74 eV), supporting the hypothesis of altered pharmacodynamic behavior. These findings suggest that caffeine may modulate imatinib’s metabolic profile and therapeutic efficacy by enhancing receptor binding and altering drug distribution. The study underscores the importance of evaluating dietary components during drug development and therapeutic planning, particularly for agents metabolized by CYP3A4. Full article

Existing approaches to social media sentiment analysis typically focus on static classification, offering limited foresight into how public opinion evolves. This study addresses that gap by introducing the Multi-Feature Sentiment-Driven Forecasting (MFSF) framework, a novel pipeline that enhances sentiment trend prediction by integrating rich contextual information from text. Using state-of-the-art transformer models on the Sentiment140 dataset, our framework extracts three concurrent signals from each tweet: sentiment polarity, aspect-based scores (e.g., ‘price’ and ‘service’), and topic embeddings. These features are aggregated into a daily multivariate time series. We then employ a SARIMAX model to forecast future sentiment, using the extracted aspect and topic data as predictive exogenous variables. Our results, validated on the historical Sentiment140 Twitter dataset, demonstrate the framework’s superior performance. The proposed multivariate model achieved a 26.6% improvement in forecasting accuracy (RMSE) over a traditional univariate ARIMA baseline. The analysis confirmed that conversational aspects like ‘service’ and ‘quality’ are statistically significant predictors of future sentiment. By leveraging the contextual drivers of conversation, the MFSF framework provides a more accurate and interpretable tool for businesses and policymakers to proactively monitor and anticipate shifts in public opinion.
