Digital transformation (DT) has become increasingly prominent the healthcare scene, incorporating digital innovations into all healthcare processes in a new eHealth 4.0 model. In this paradigm, communication becomes a key process for making decisions and strengthening links with healthcare stakeholders. This study aims to explore the nature of scientific production and the relevance that academia assigns to both communication processes and the impact of DT on patient (user) experience in healthcare contexts. To this end, a scoping review of the scientific literature was conducted in Scopus using the PRISMA-ScR protocol, resulting in 163 records published between 2015 and October 2025, which were subsequently analysed with VOSviewer (version 1.6.20) to explore the results, enabling a bibliometric and thematic exploration of the most influential publications. The findings reveal a growing body of scientific output, with special emphasis on the organisational transformation derived from technological innovations, which contrasts with the limited interest of academia in communication approaches and in patient experience, as well as in the way trust and satisfaction are reconfiguring the relationships among the actors in the system. These results suggest the need to redesign business processes from a more human and empathetic perspective, linked in terms of equity to the 2030 Agenda, and to promote policies fostering digital, media and health literacy. Gaze is a natural and rapid non-verbal interaction mode, particularly well-suited for human–robot interaction in busy space environments. However, the space human–robot interaction based on gaze is still in its infancy. Therefore, this paper conducts a preliminary exploration in this area. Using the AAR-2, a free-flying astronaut-assistant robot, as the platform, we establish a gaze tracking database, construct a gaze tracking model based on an attention mechanism, and develop a human–robot interface. When the astronaut gazes at a control button on the interface, the corresponding control instruction is transmitted to the STM32 controller within the AAR-2 via radio frequency communication. Subsequently, the AAR-2 is propelled by ducted fans to perform the corresponding action. At the same time, the AAR-2 feeds back its operational state to the astronaut, thereby enabling space human–robot interaction. In the system, we achieve an effective gaze tracking model with high accuracy and implement an efficient image preprocessing method with high real-time performance. The experimental results demonstrate that the system can meet the actual requirements for accuracy and real-time processing. Full article

Companies need to allocate substantial effort and resources towards adapting to dynamic market trends and promptly meeting their customers’ evolving expectations in the online business context. Although e-commerce research has experienced significant growth over the past two decades, a comprehensive, systematic, and longitudinal analysis that maps the evolution of publications, academic collaboration patterns, influential actors and sources, thematic structures, and theoretical foundations of the field is still lacking. This gap limits a holistic understanding of the maturation, intellectual structure, and future research directions of e-commerce as an academic domain. Based on these premises, the primary objective of the present study is to analyse the landscape of e-commerce spanning the period from 2008 to 2024. By employing bibliometric analysis, we have identified the most prolific and influential authors and publications that have made notable contributions to the literature on e-commerce, as well as the collaborations between authors and countries within the same field. Furthermore, we have analysed the thematic map, research trends, and interconnections between research themes over the past 17 years, providing a dynamic summary of scientific topics of interest in the field of e-commerce and suggesting potential directions for future explorations. The results reveal the heterogeneity of themes associated with e-commerce. We found that research topics in this field have evolved alongside technological evolution and social changes. Some themes have persisted over the years, such as customer behaviour or trust, while others have either disappeared or transformed. For instance, research related to supporting e-commerce technologies has become more specific, focusing on topics such as artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning, metaverse or blockchain. From a social perspective, the impact of COVID-19 has resonated within the scientific community, becoming a significant focus of researchers around the world. This study serves as a comprehensive guide for professionals and researchers seeking to bridge current research topics with forthcoming developments in the field of e-commerce. Examining contributions and emerging trends reveals new perspectives on how technological progress interacts with the social and economic dimensions of e-commerce. Full article

According to Fortune Business Insights, the market share of the Internet of Vehicless is expected to grow from USD 95.62 billion in 2021 to USD 369.61 billion in 2028, at a compound annual growth rate of 21.4%. However, the Internet of Vehicles system still faces several challenges, including regulation, scalability, data management, connectivity, interoperability, privacy, and security. To improve communication security within the Internet of Vehicle system, we have implemented a secure cryptographic algorithm called Optimized Certificateless Key-Encapsulated Encryption, resulting from a fusion of the key-insulated cryptosystem and the cryptographic key-encapsulated mechanism. The formal security analysis of our algorithm using the AVISPA version 1.1 software shows us that our protocol is safe. Informal analysis shows that our algorithm ensures authenticity, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation and resists several other attacks. Our algorithm’s computational and communicational costs are slightly better than those at which it inherits the functionalities. Full article

Sustainable packaging has become a major area of academic and practical interest, reflecting growing environmental awareness, regulatory pressure, and changing consumer expectations. This study aims to synthesize existing knowledge on consumers’ behavior toward sustainable packaging and their willingness to pay (WTP) for environmentally friendly solutions. Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic literature review was conducted, encompassing 78 peer-reviewed publications from 2019 to 2025. Bibliometric mapping using VOSviewer (version 1.6.20) identified three main research streams: consumer attitudes and determinants of behavior, willingness to pay for sustainable packaging, and perception of packaging materials and systems. The reviewed studies, conducted across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America, employed diverse methods, including surveys, discrete choice experiments, structural equation modeling, and mixed designs. Results indicate that consumer behavior is shaped by environmental awareness, self-identity, perceived usefulness, and trust in labeling, while packaging material and functionality remain decisive for acceptance. Most studies show that consumers are willing to pay a premium of about 10–20% for sustainable packaging, though price sensitivity and hygiene concerns limit actual adoption. The findings highlight the conditional nature of consumer acceptance and emphasize the need for transparent communication, credible certification, and functional design. This study provides guidance for policymakers and businesses seeking to promote sustainable packaging solutions. Full article

As an inherently fragmented and multisectoral phenomenon, tourism requires the involvement of a diverse range of stakeholders. The main aim of the present study is to map local tourism stakeholders and analyze governance networks. The researchers recruited respondents from key tourism stakeholders through purposive sampling techniques. Closed-ended questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and focus group discussions were used for collecting data. We applied the power–interest grid for mapping local tourism stakeholders. In addition, guided by the concept of resource dependency theory, the Social Network Analysis technique was employed for mapping local tourism governance networks. The findings disclosed that the local tourism stakeholder map primarily comprises government institutions, tourism businesses, local communities, and civil society organizations. Although tourism government institutions and large tourism businesses established strong linkages, the network density was found to be moderate. Implementing effective stakeholder mapping techniques and strengthening local tourism governance networks is crucial to promoting sustainable tourism. This study makes a substantive contribution to academia by providing insights into the methods and techniques essential for mapping tourism stakeholders and governance networks. Moreover, the study has practical implications for destination management organizations, policymakers, and destination administrators. Full article

There is little evidence of the implementation of the Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems between universities and businesses, and there is even less research that prioritizes people and implements sustainable development with a territorial focus. In this article, we address a form of collaborative work that integrates academia with business, where the Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (CFS-RIA) are seen as an opportunity to promote and strengthen the management of a business in the communities where it operates, and determine a new way of working from its links with the university. The experience is developed in the provinces of Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde (Mao), and Dajabón in the Dominican Republic, with the aim of contributing, using this new approach, to economic, social, environmental, and governance development in the territory. The conceptual and methodological basis for the university–business link is Working With People, a model that integrates key elements of planning such as social learning, collaborative participation, and project management models. The main catalysts of the experience are the business values and the stakeholders who insert the principles into their programs and projects. Among these is an innovative Family Social Responsibility Program with female entrepreneurs and organic banana production. It is concluded that the implementation of the CFS-RIA Principles has a significant impact on the sustainable development of the region and that the university–business link reinforces the social responsibility of companies, providing an opportunity for the entry of new actors. Effective communication skills are widely recognized as essential for entrepreneurial success, yet limited empirical research has explored their direct relationship with individual entrepreneurship perceptions, particularly among women entrepreneurs. This study addresses this gap by investigating how communication competencies correlate with entrepreneurial self-perception, while also examining whether these variables vary according to demographic and professional characteristics such as age, occupational field, business ownership, and job position. Employing a quantitative research design with a descriptive survey model, data were collected from 145 women entrepreneurs. Statistical analyses, including ANOVA, multiple regression analysis and correlation tests, were applied to explore differences and relationships among variables. Findings indicate that certain demographic factors, notably age and job position, significantly influence both communication skills and entrepreneurship perceptions. Furthermore, a strong positive correlation emerged between the communication skills and individual entrepreneurship perceptions of women entrepreneurs. In addition, the fact that the communication skills and entrepreneurship perceptions of branch managers were higher than those of other work statuses showed that the “manager position” served as an important node affecting both variables within the system. These results underscore the importance of enhancing communication capabilities as a strategic component in fostering entrepreneurial identity and potential among women in diverse professional contexts. As a neighborhood-scale derivative of the Business Improvement District (BID) model, the Neighborhood Business Improvement District (NBID) represents a collaborative governance framework aimed at fostering spontaneous urban regeneration. Its successful establishment critically depends on building consensus among diverse stakeholders during the preparatory phase. This study addresses a significant gap by investigating the psychological mechanisms that shape stakeholders’ willingness to engage in NBIDs prior to their formation. Employing an exploratory sequential mixed-methods approach, we conducted semi-structured interviews in the Tiyuan North Community (Tianjin) and the Yulin East Road Community (Chengdu). Insights from the qualitative phase informed a subsequent quantitative survey administered to 215 stakeholders in Tianjin. Data were analyzed using regression analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results reveal that stakeholders’ performance expectations and collaborative willingness are significantly influenced by three core confidence factors: “Confidence in Authority Support (AS)” (particularly “Confidence in Council Representation”), “Confidence in Organization Capability (OC)” (especially “Confidence in Coordination Ability”), and “Confidence in Multi-party Collaboration.” Crucially, “Confidence in Enabling collaboration (MC_3)” itself acts as a key mediator, translating institutional trust into performance expectations. This study contributes a novel “Confidence–Expectation” framework to the literature on collective action and offers practical, context-sensitive insights for designing collaborative community governance structures aimed at sustainable urban regeneration in China and beyond. Wildfires are increasingly recognized as a climatological hazard, able to threaten industrial and critical infrastructure safety and operations and lead to Natech disasters. Future projections of exacerbated fire regimes increase the likelihood of Natech disasters, therefore increasing expected direct damage costs, clean-up costs, and long-term economic losses due to business interruption and environmental remediation. While large industrial complexes, such as oil, gas, and chemical facilities have sufficient resources for the implementation of effective prevention and mitigation plans, small-to-medium-sized industrial hubs are particularly vulnerable due to their scattered distribution and limited resources for investing in comprehensive fire prevention systems. This study targets the vulnerability of these communities by proposing the deployment of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) as cost-effective Early Wildfire Detection Systems (EWDSs) to safeguard wildland and industrial domains. The proposed approach leverages wildland–industrial interface (WII) geospatial data, simulated wildfire dynamics data, and mathematical optimization to maximize detection efficiency at minimal cost. The WII delimits the boundary where the presence of wildland fires impacts industrial activity, thus representing a proxy for potential Natech disasters. The methodology is tested in Cocentaina, Spain, a municipality characterized by a highly flammable Mediterranean landscape and medium-scale industrial parks. Results reveal the complex trade-offs between detection characteristics and the degree of protection in the combined wildland and WII areas, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions. This methodology is easily replicable for any municipality and industrial installation, or for generic wildland–human interface (WHI) scenarios, provided there is access to wildfire dynamics data and geospatial boundaries delimiting the areas to protect. Background: In an increasingly volatile global business environment, supply chain resilience has become a strategic imperative, particularly for firms operating in developing economies. Guided by Dynamic Capabilities Theory (DCT), this study examines how AI-powered tools foster an innovation culture comprising communication, creativity, and learning, and how these dimensions enhance supply chain resilience measured through flexibility, efficiency, and velocity. Methods: A quantitative research design was employed using survey data collected from 270 supply chain and operations managers in Jordanian manufacturing firms. Twelve direct hypotheses were tested using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. Results: The findings indicate that AI-powered tools significantly influence communication, creativity, and learning. Communication and creativity positively affect all three dimensions of supply chain resilience. Learning significantly improves efficiency but shows no significant effect on flexibility or velocity, indicating that learning is mainly utilized for process improvement rather than rapid adaptation. Conclusions: The study demonstrates that AI adoption alone is insufficient to build resilient supply chains unless supported by innovation-oriented cultural capabilities. The findings extend DCT by clarifying the differentiated role of learning in resilience building and provide actionable guidance for managers seeking to align AI investments with cultural development in resource-constrained manufacturing contexts and long-term competitive advantage. The efficiency optimization of encryption and decryption algorithms in cloud environments is addressed in this study, where the processing speed of encryption and decryption is enhanced through the application of multi-threaded parallel technology. In view of the high-concurrency and distributed storage characteristics of cloud platforms, a multi-threaded concurrency mechanism is adopted for the direct processing of data streams. Compared with the traditional serial processing mode, four distinct encryption algorithms, namely AES, DES, SM4 and Ascon, are employed, and different data units are processed concurrently by means of multithreaded technology. Based on multi-dimensional performance evaluation indicators (including throughput, memory footprint and security level), comparative analyses are carried out to optimize the design scheme; accordingly, multi-threaded collaborative encryption is realized to improve the overall operation efficiency. Experimental results indicate that, in comparison with the traditional serial encryption method, the encryption and decryption latency of the algorithm is reduced by around 50%, which significantly lowers the time overhead associated with encryption and decryption processes. Simultaneously, the throughput of AES and DES algorithms is observed to be doubled, which leads to a remarkable improvement in communication efficiency. Moreover, under the premise that the original secure communication capability is guaranteed, system resource overhead is effectively reduced by SM4 and Ascon algorithms. On this basis, a quantitative reference basis is provided for cloud platforms to develop targeted encryption strategies tailored to diverse business demands. In conclusion, the proposed approach is of profound significance for advancing the synergistic optimization of security and performance in cloud-native data communication scenarios. Full article

The forms studied are alternative food networks and are characterized by their sustainable commitment in food production, distribution, and consumption practices. A systematic literature search was conducted using the databases Web of Science and Business Source Premier in accordance with the PRISMA statement guidelines. Forty-two articles were included in the final analysis, with the oldest article published in 2006 and the newest in 2025. The systematic literature review identifies five forms of communitization with alternative nutritional practices: community, urban and self-harvest gardens; food cooperatives or cooperative initiatives; food sharing and redistribution initiatives; community-supported agriculture and networks; and ecovillages, commune, food initiatives, and other partnerships. The review highlights key forms of communitization that feature alternative nutritional practices, the methods used, and the geographical areas involved. Using content analysis, the organizational structures, opportunities, and challenges of various forms of communitization that feature alternative nutritional practices are identified and their transformative potential discussed. Sustainable development affects the quality of life of spatially diverse populations, and the pursuit of improved living conditions—both objective and subjective—is often associated with residential relocation. This article examines population movements from urban to rural areas outside agglomerations. Quantitative research was first conducted to assess population changes in rural areas in Poland between 2002 and 2024 and to determine the role of urban-to-rural migration in this process. The second stage consisted of qualitative research conducted among residents of selected Polish villages. The results indicate that the largest scale of migration from urban to rural areas outside agglomerations occurred in the western part of the country, particularly in the Dolnośląskie and Wielkopolskie Voivodeships, which are characterised by high levels of socio-economic development and good spatial accessibility. New residents—counterurbanists—primarily selected areas with high natural values. The decision to relocate to the countryside stemmed mainly from a desire for lifestyle change. In many cases, the opportunity to live in rural areas enabled newcomers to realise their aspirations of establishing their own businesses, which improved both their quality of life and that of the local community. The emerging urbanization and the extensive increase of the transportation sector are responsible for the significant increase in carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, replacing traditional cars with Electric Vehicles (EVs) is a promising solution, offering a clearer alternative. EVs are becoming more and more well-known and are being quickly used worldwide. However, the exponential rise in EV sales has also raised a number of issues, which are becoming important and demanding. These challenges include the need of driving security, the battery degradation, the inadequate infrastructure for charging EVs, and the uneven energy distribution. In order for EVs to reach their full potential, intelligent systems and innovative technologies need to be introduced in the field of EVs. This is where business intelligence (BI) can be employed, along with artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and machine learning. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive survey on the use of BI strategies in the EV transportation sector. We first introduce the EVs and charging station technologies. Then, research works on the application of BI and data analysis techniques in EV technology are reviewed to further understand the challenges and open issues for the research and industry community. Moreover, related works on accident analysis, battery health prediction, charging station analysis, intelligent infrastructure, locating charging stations analysis, and autonomous driving are investigated. This survey systematically reviews 75 peer-reviewed studies published between 2020 and 2025. Finally, we discuss the fundamental limitations and the future open challenges in the aforementioned topics. Full article
