Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Vaccination is vital for preventing infectious diseases and promoting public health. However, individuals with immune-mediated intestinal diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and celiac disease, encounter specific challenges regarding vaccine efficacy and safety. Their conditions involve immune dysregulation and chronic inflammation, which can impact vaccine responses. While vaccination is generally recommended for these patients, understanding the factors affecting vaccine effectiveness and safety is essential. The complex interactions between their illnesses and immunosuppressive therapies complicate assessments of vaccine responses and raise concerns about potential adverse events.
This Special Issue aims to evaluate current evidence on the efficacy and safety of vaccines for patients with immune-mediated intestinal diseases. Topics will include immune mechanisms that affect vaccine responses, the impact of therapies on vaccine effectiveness, and existing vaccination recommendations for this group. By addressing these challenges and promoting an understanding of effective vaccination
strategies, this Special Issue aspires to contribute to evidence-based guidelines for patients with immune-mediated intestinal diseases. We invite submissions of original articles, reviews, and other contributions that enhance vaccination practices and ensure the health and safety of these individuals.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Vaccines is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
