Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Vaccination is one of the most effective public health interventions, particularly in the field of pediatric infectious diseases. The development of new vaccines, along with growing real-world evidence of their effectiveness, continues to impact global immunization programs. In recent years, pediatric vaccinology has expanded beyond traditional targets, introducing novel disease prevention strategies that address significant health burdens in childhood.

We invite you to contribute to our Special Issue, "Vaccines for Pediatric Infectious Diseases." The goal of this series is to publish high-quality reviews and original research papers that showcase recent scientific and clinical developments in pediatric vaccinology. We aim to enhance our understanding of how both new and established vaccines can effectively prevent infectious diseases in children and explore how these advancements can inform public health actions.

This Special Issue focuses on the pediatric setting; we hope to integrate existing evidence, acknowledge unmet needs, and guide future research and policy. This Special Issue will spotlight recent advancements in children's vaccines, provide critical summaries of new information, and discuss the

potential benefits and risks associated with introducing new vaccines into pediatric vaccination schedules worldwide. We welcome original research articles and reviews, including:

  • Innovations in RSV vaccines for children and infants;
  • Developments in meningococcal vaccines;
  • Real-world acceptability and performance of PCV20 in pediatric populations;
  • Developments and needs for Group A Streptococcus vaccines to prevent invasive disease and pharyngitis;
  • Immunization strategies for pregnant women to prevent respiratory and systemic infections in infants;
  • Progress in norovirus vaccines for children;
  • Next-generation pertussis vaccines.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
