Dear Colleagues,
Vaccines play a crucial role in protecting animals against infectious diseases, which not only impact global livestock production but also pose threats to human health and security. The financial implications of these diseases can be substantial, leading to significant production losses and trade restrictions. Traditional vaccines face challenges; however, next-generation vaccines offer improved efficacy and stability due to their precise targeting and controlled release mechanisms. These innovative vaccines hold the potential to revolutionize the prevention and control of animal infectious diseases by enhancing immune response induction, broadening pathogen coverage and simplifying administration protocols.
This Special Issue welcomes submissions of original research and review articles that focus primarily on the preclinical and clinical development of vaccines aimed at preventing and controlling animal infectious diseases. Some of the topics of interest include novel vector-based vaccines, new adjuvanted vaccines, LNP-mRNA vaccines, virus-like particle (VLP) vaccines, polymeric and inorganic nanoparticle vaccines, self-assembled protein vaccines and biomimetic nanoparticle vaccines, among others.
