Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to contribute to a Special Issue titled “Evaluating Immunisation Programmes to Optimise Vaccination Strategies and Strengthen Vaccines Impact” in the journal Vaccines, which is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access journal.
Vaccination remains one of the most impactful and cost-effective interventions in public health for preventing disease and saving lives worldwide. However, the true success of immunisation programmes extends beyond the number of doses administered. To maximise their benefits, it is essential to conduct comprehensive evaluations to ensure immunisation programmes are efficient, equitable, and adaptable to emerging challenges.
This Special Issue focuses on interdisciplinary research that explores how rigorous evaluation of immunisation strategies can enhance vaccine coverage, promote health equity, and improve overall vaccination outcomes, thereby informing policy and supporting sustainable advances in disease prevention.
In this Special Issue, original research articles, literature reviews, and implementation reports from various contexts and disciplines are welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to
- Evaluation methodologies for national immunisation programmes;
- Impact assessments of routine and campaign-based vaccination initiatives;
- Cost-effectiveness analyses and economic assessments of vaccination strategies;
- Modelling studies to forecast impact, simulate strategies, or optimise vaccine allocation;
- Quasi-experimental, qualitative and mixed methods studies assessing the impact of immunisation policies and interventions;
- Studies leveraging surveillance data, electronic health records, or digital health tools for vaccination programme monitoring and evaluation;
- Insights from past vaccination campaigns against influenza, COVID-19, HPV, measles, polio, and other diseases;
- Strategies to improve vaccine coverage and address inequities.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
