Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The outcome of a viral infection on the host's immune system involves a complex interaction that restricts viral infection and replication. Viruses have developed various strategies to evade immune responses. For example, viruses can interfere with antibody production and trigger innate and adaptive immune responses in their avian hosts. Some avian influenza viruses, like H5N1 and H7N9, have evolved mechanisms to suppress the innate immune response. We welcome original research articles and reviews for this Special Issue. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, studies on avian viruses, avian vaccine vectors, adjuvants and immunomodulators, avian vaccine development and efficacy evaluation, viral immunology, and immunology mechanisms.

We invite you to submit your work to our Special Issue, “Avian Viruses and the Host Immune System”. This issue provides a platform for research studies focused on avian viruses and the host immune response. We look forward to your contributions.
