2018 Annual Congress––International Society for Vaccines
We are excited to announce the 2018 International Society for Vaccines (ISV) Annual Congress at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia, USA on 28th-30th October 2018.
The format of the 2018 Congress will be similar to that of previous years with the content determined by a Scientific Committee composed of high profile individuals representing a broad portfolio of expertise from both academia and industry. The Congress will feature international leading experts as keynote and symposium speakers as well as a high percentage of oral presentations selected from abstracts submitted by the global vaccine community.
Atlanta is the capital of the U.S. state of Georgia. It is the home of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as six medical research institutions that will lead to strong support for the Congress. The timing of the Congress coincides with the 100th anniversary of the devastating 1918 influenza pandemic which claimed ~50 million lives, and acknowledges the positive effect that vaccines can have on protecting our society against disease.
Atlanta played an important part in both the Civil War and the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. The Atlanta History Center chronicles the city's past and the Martin Luther King Jr., and the National Historic Site is dedicated to the African-American leader's life and times. Downtown, Centennial Olympic Park, built for the 1996 Olympics, encompasses the massive Georgia Aquarium. The city is also the headquarters for the World of Coca-Cola and the new organization, CNN.
The Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is the world's busiest airport, facilitating easy access to the Congress venue from anywhere in the world. There are numerous transportation options from the Airport to Downtown Atlanta which will transport you to the Congress Venue and Hotel within minutes.
Various awards will be given to support travel to the Congress, and for scientific presentations. This information will be posted at a later date on the website.
