Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
During the last few decades, the development of bio-based materials and their applications has intensified, due to the growing social concern and an increasingly restrictive regulation on the use of single-use plastics. In this sense, bio-based and biodegradable thermoplastic materials have been developed, such as PLA, PHB, TPS, etc., as well as bio-based and nonbiodegradable thermoplastic materials that are homologous to traditional polymers such as bioPE, bioPA, etc., and bio-based thermostable materials such as bio PU, bio epoxy starting of vegetable oils, etc. that can be used as a matrix in green composites. All these types of materials have a more benevolent effect on the environment, since they can reduce the consumption of petroleum primary materials and reduce the carbon footprint.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue
- Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
- Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
- Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
- External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
- e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
