Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) represents a growing global health burden with significant morbidity and mortality. While pharmacological interventions are crucial, emerging evidence underscores the fundamental role of nutrition in slowing disease progression and managing complications. This Special Issue, "Dietary Patterns and Nutritional Support for Kidney Diseases," aims to collate cutting-edge research articles and reviews that explore the impact of various dietary regimens—such as plant-dominant diets, low-protein diets, and specific micronutrient supplementation—on renal function. We welcome contributions investigating the mechanistic links between nutrition and kidney health, the role of gut microbiota, and innovative nutritional strategies for different stages of CKD, including dialysis and post-transplant care. We aim to provide a comprehensive resource for clinicians and researchers to optimize patient-centered nutritional care.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
