Dear Colleagues,
Children with cancer are uniquely vulnerable to nutritional deterioration due to the combined effects of the disease itself, intensive anticancer therapies, inflammation, metabolic alterations, and treatment-related toxicities, all occurring during critical periods of growth and development. Malnutrition, sarcopenia, micronutrient deficiencies, and obesity may negatively affect treatment tolerance, infection risk, quality of life, clinical outcomes, and long-term survivorship. At the same time, growing evidence highlights the importance of early nutritional assessment and individualized nutritional interventions as integral components of supportive pediatric oncology care. Despite increasing awareness, important challenges remain regarding body composition assessment, nutritional strategies, and evidence-based guidelines tailored to children and adolescents with cancer. This Special Issue, Nutritional Support in Pediatric Oncology: Addressing the Dual Challenge of Disease and Growth, aims to bring together current research, clinical evidence, and innovative approaches related to nutritional screening, enteral and parenteral nutrition, cancer cachexia, gut microbiota, precision nutrition, treatment-related toxicities, survivorship, and long-term metabolic outcomes in pediatric oncology patients. We welcome both original research articles and comprehensive reviews addressing clinical, translational, and multidisciplinary aspects of nutritional support in childhood cancer.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
