Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are a leading cause of disability and reduced quality of life worldwide, imposing a significant burden on healthcare systems. Physical therapy plays a crucial role in the prevention, assessment, and treatment of these conditions, offering evidence-based interventions aimed at restoring function, reducing pain, and improving overall well-being. As our understanding of the pathophysiology of MSDs advances, physical therapy continues to evolve by incorporating cutting-edge technologies and personalized care strategies.

This Special Issue aims to highlight recent trends in physical therapy for musculoskeletal disorders, with a particular emphasis on novel assessment techniques, advanced therapeutic interventions, and personalized rehabilitation protocols. We welcome original research, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses on topics such as wearable technology, imaging modalities, machine learning for precision diagnosis, and innovative therapeutic approaches (e.g., dry needling, manual therapy, exercise prescription). Furthermore, we encourage submissions that explore movement retraining, neuromuscular re-education, and the integration of biomechanical, psychological, and lifestyle factors in treatment planning.

This Special Issue seeks to bridge the gap between traditional methods and emerging practices, providing an updated and comprehensive resource for advancing the clinical management of musculoskeletal disorders.
