Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite submissions to this Special Issue focused on computational methods and algorithms for network and data security. With the widespread use of computer networks and the rapid growth of network-based services, ensuring network and data security has become a critical challenge for system administrators and researchers alike.
In recent years, we have witnessed a significant evolution in the design of security algorithms—from traditional rule-based systems, which rely on predefined signatures and heuristics, to artificial intelligence (AI)-based approaches that can learn from data, detect complex patterns, and adapt to evolving threats. Both approaches offer greater adaptability and performance across different layers and types of security problems.
This Special Issue aims to showcase the latest research on the design, analysis, and implementation of novel algorithms for network and data security. We welcome contributions on new mathematical models, algorithmic innovations, and efficient implementation techniques that advance the state of the art in this important field.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but not limited to) the following:
- Enterprise, Cloud, CPS network security;
- 5G, IoT, Vehicle network security;
- Network traffic analysis and classification;
- Network anomaly detection;
- False data injection attack detection;
- Foundation model design for network security;
- Advanced encryption and cryptographic technologies;
- Privacy protection and data anonymization technologies;
- Secure multi-party computation;
- Advanced hardware (e.g., P4, TEE) assisted security.
I look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
