Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue, “Simulation and Control in Engineering: Models, Algorithms, and Applications”, explores cutting-edge engineering simulation and control systems advancements. It aims to bring together innovative research on mathematical modeling, computational algorithms, and real-world applications in various engineering fields. The issue covers dynamic system modeling, optimization techniques, artificial intelligence-based control strategies, and digital twin technology. Special emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary approaches integrating machine learning, data-driven modeling, and real-time control systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation in industrial and manufacturing processes. Contributions include theoretical developments, experimental validations, and case studies that demonstrate the practical impact of simulation and control techniques. This Special Issue is a platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to share insights and advancements contributing to the next generation of intelligent and autonomous systems. We invite researchers and engineers to contribute their original, unpublished works, focusing on (but not limited to) the topics listed below.

  • Applications of Optimization Algorithms: Exploring various optimization techniques and their applications in engineering, including advanced methods for system optimization, resource allocation, and process efficiency.
  • Control and Simulation Techniques for Engineering: Investigating innovative control strategies and simulation methods for engineering systems, covering theoretical and practical aspects to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Artificial Intelligence in Control: Exploring the integration of AI and machine learning techniques into control systems, with applications in adaptive control, predictive maintenance, and autonomous systems.
  • Machine Learning for Control: Discussing the use of machine learning algorithms to improve control strategies, including reinforcement learning, deep learning, and neural networks for real-time control and decision-making.
  • Modeling and Control of Autonomous Systems: Focusing on the challenges and solutions in modeling and controlling autonomous systems, including robotics, self-driving vehicles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
  • Control of Multiagent Systems: Examining the modeling, coordination, and control of multiagent systems, including distributed systems, swarm robotics, and collaborative autonomous networks.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
