Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue delves into the transformative impact of mobile payments and digital finance on the global economy and consumer behavior. As mobile devices and digital financial services gain prevalence, they significantly reshape traditional business models, foster financial inclusion, and promote sustainable economic growth. This Special Issue encompasses a wide range of topics, including how mobile payments contribute to sustainable socioeconomic progress and enhance consumer well-being, patterns of adoption, and the utilization of digital financial services, as well as the evolving regulatory landscape in the digital finance sector. Additionally, it examines how mobile payments affect consumer spending habits and market dynamics, the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning into e-commerce and fintech, and the critical security as well as privacy concerns related to digital transactions. The role of mobile payments in advancing financial inclusion, particularly in developing countries, is also explored.

This Special Issue aims to contribute meaningfully to ongoing academic and practical discussions on how mobile payment technologies are transforming the financial sector, consumer behavior, and the broader digital economy by highlighting high-quality research investigating the economic ramifications, technological innovations, and societal impacts of this digital financial evolution. Scholars, industry experts, and policymakers will find valuable insights into mobile payments' current landscape and future trajectory, emphasizing their significance in driving economic growth, enhancing financial accessibility, and reshaping business practices within an increasingly interconnected environment. This comprehensive exploration of mobile payments and the digital economy will serve as a crucial resource for understanding and navigating the rapidly evolving dynamics of digital finance and its profound implications for society and the global economy.
