Biomaterials for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine

A section of Journal of Functional Biomaterials (ISSN 2079-4983).

Section Information

Biomaterials for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine is a section that covers biomaterial sciences and their applications to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine for treating/repairing damaged tissue/organs. The section provides a peer-reviewed forum for the publication of both original and review papers, addressing the most important issues in the use of biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The scope of the section covers biomaterial sciences, methods/technologies to engineer scaffolds from biomaterials, and scaffold-based tissue regeneration and visualization. The topics include but are not limited to physical, mechanical, and biological sciences of biomaterials, biomaterial synthesis and interaction with hosts, biomaterial printing and bioprinting, biomaterial-scaffold-based tissue regeneration, and cancer therapies both in vitro and in vivo, as well as advanced methods/technologies to non-invasively track scaffold-treated tissue regeneration in living animal models and human patients.
